Volunteer for the YouthWrite 25th Anniversary Block Party! We need FULLY VACCINATED volunteers to help us put on this big birthday bash! We are accepting volunteers ages 14+ for most roles and welcome families to volunteer as a unit! Please read over the volunteer roles and fill out the Volunteer Application Form below if you are interested! Volunteers will get an awesome One-Time-Only-Never-to-be-Seen-Again 25th Anniversary T-shirt, pizza, and other surprises! Volunteers will be expected to attend a short orientation prior to the Anniversary. Date TBA

We need volunteers for: 

Set Up and Take Down

You will be taking the longest shifts and helping with tech, large tents, tables, chairs. If you choose an early Set Up time, after set up you will then be assigned to a party station, house tours, security, first aid, or other volunteer role for the rest of their shift.
Shifts: Saturday 9am-4pm, Saturday 3:30pm-10pm, Sunday 9am-1:30pm

Party Station Managers

You will be helping out at individual party stations at Highlands Park on the Saturday, helping the guest instructor, and welcoming visitors and telling them what's going on at that station (storytelling, dancing, bouncy house etc)

McLuhan House Tours

You will be provided with information on McLuhan House and will take visitors through the house and into the back area where the artist-in-residence is having a showing.

First Aid and/or Security*

You will have First Aid certification or should feel comfortable assessing situations in order to contact the correct people to deal with any security risks that might occur. While we don't foresee any problems, experience in de-escalating situations is a bonus!

Welcome + Info

You are someone who comfortable chatting with others, helping direct people to the various activities, and keeping foot-traffic moving throughout the site. 

Food and/or Drink Service*

If you select to volunteer for Drink Service, you must have your Pro-Serve. If you volunteer for food service, you should be able to carry light trays of small appetizers.

Photographer/Social Media

This person should be able to take a good candid shot and would be expected to post to their own social media and tag YouthWrite to create more buzz throughout the event.
